Hi,

I am using HyperSnap for many years and I really love it. A couple of releases ago, however, I started having trouble with the zoom window in Region capture (the one that shows the keyboard shortcuts, the pixel colors and coordinates and a zoomed clipping around the crosshair). This helper window is extremely useful for me, but the following two issues make it hard for me to use it:

1. The zoomed picture is quite distorted. It seems to have less colors than the original area, pixels are missing, colors are missing or wrong, and the moving the mouse some sort of a trace around the crosshair.

2. Sometimes the window is covered by the taskbar of Windows (= it sits behind the taskbar). I have a dual-screen system, with the taskbar arranged vertically on the right-hand side of the right-hand monitor. Whenever the window jumps to the bottom right corner, it ends up behind the taskbar.

I am using HyperSnap 6.61.05 on WinXP SP3, fully patched. I even tried updating the drivers of the graphics adapter, but that didn't help.

Can someone reproduce these issues? Any ideas how to fix them?

Cheers,

Hi,
what is the color mode of your Windows screen and the resolutions of each monitor? And what options for the vertical task bar did you set, e.g. auto-hide or not, keep on top or not, etc.?

Could you send me an image of how the zoomed window looks like with all these distortions, maybe also at the same time send me a fragment of the original screen that it shows? You could capture the screen during region capture by pressing the Print Screen button (assuming that you set HyperSnap to not handle that button at all under Capture menu, Screen capture hot keys...). Then you could use edit/paste as new image to paste what Print Screen has captured, and use Image/Crop function to cut out only the interesting parts, as the whole image of two monitors would be huge.

Greg,

thanks for looking into this. I'll send you the screenshots via PM.

Greg, did you receive the screenshots and the additional details I sent? The problem still exists in 6.62.02 ...

Thanks in advance

Somehow I did not get them... But before we try anything else, could you please check the web site of your computer manufacturer and your graphics card manufacturer, to see if they have an updated graphics card driver for your system? It looks like a buggy driver than anything else we could try.
